The Autistic Self Advocacy Network New Jersey Chapter seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement as it relates to autism.
ASAN-NJ believes in the following principles:
Autistic people of New Jersey and elsewhere must have access to and enjoy the same right and opportunities as all other citizens
The autistic community of New Jersey must be empowered to, and be given the chance to take control over their own lives and the future of the autistic community.
The autistic community of New Jersey must have voice in local, county, state, and national policy decision, embodying the core Autistic Self Advocacy Network principle, “Nothing About Us, Without Us.”
